re: max rebar spacing
i'm looking at a slab on profiled metal decking design which has been done by someone else. they have detailed transverse btm reinforcement at n12-600 and top as n12-250. looking at the code the min steel area requirement is ok but (as3600 in this case) the 600mm spacing is in excess of the maximum of 300mm for slabs.
just wondering, when checking the maximum spacing will the fact that we have 250mm along the top mean that the spacing centre-to-centre spacing requirement is satisified irregardless of the fact that the reo in top and bottom layers?
any thoughts?
is the deck composite? the bottom bars may be only for the fire load case. why don't you ask whoever did the design?
the 300mm limit is for flexural crack control.
sounds like bondek, the profile metal deck will act as bottom reinforcement. typically when i design bondek it is 150mm thick, n12-400 (every second pan) and top mesh for crack control.
if you google bondek you can download literature on the design (i think it is made by bluescope). |
