reinforcement convention in american standard
i had a drg containing reinf. information #7@12". please explain what it is.many thanks.
7/8" (approximately 22mm diameter, nominal area = .6in2 or 387mm2) bars at 12" (approximately 300mm) centres
many thanks, rapt.i'm only working in bs standard. so #6@12" means approx.20mm dia bars at 12" centers??
for engineers having to read reinforcement drawings prepared to the american standard the main stream design code is aci 318 (nuclear, chimneys, environmental engineering and others have their own).
the definition of the bar number is now available in the appendix (e or f) of recent versions of aci 318. the metric version of it may not have it though because people would use metric size bars already. |
