shortcuts to us code clauses
given the complexity of us codes, i thought that this may be a good venue to share general shortcuts/rules of thumb/simplifications that people use to simplify the design task.
does anyone have any of these out there?
i don't know about any specific resources that can be readily used, but recently i have started a project that could potentially develop into something that you are looking for. it was inspired by wikipedia.org, "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit"; mine is called structuralwiki and can be found at
wow. i cannot believe that you've done this bridgeart. would you mind if i start posting articles about buildings there as well? i had been thinking about a similar project for some time, and would be very keen to help you out with this.
please let me know.

youngstructural, you are very welcome to start posting articles about buildings on structuralwiki!
my vision for structuralwiki is that it should be centered around structural engineering, but it can also include relevant information from related fields, such as architecture, civil engineering, history of structures, structural engineering software, etc. articles should be more professional oriented and more specialized than those on wikipedia.
regards,
bridgeart
