tall slender circular concrete tanks
i have a tall concrete tank (28') with a small diameter (8'). normally for my tank design i would refernce the pca "design of circular concrete tanks without prestressing", but in this case by h^2/dt value is off the charts for calculating my hoop tension. is there another good reference that picks up where this one leaves off?
i am running into a similar situation in my seismic calculations as i try to determine the impulsive and convective mass factors.
i think i know what i need to do, but i wanted to some input from you guys.
thanks in advance,
forget the charts. hoop tension = pressure x radius.
you may wish to check awwa d100 or api-650 for the seismic factors you need for a tall tank. they both cover the full range of tank h/d.

thanks steve, and yes connect2 this would be liquid product. |
