using lsl lumber
can you use lsl lumber in the us? all of trussjoists literature have canadian symbols at the bottom and it seems like it's only for canadians? is this true?
check out our whitepaper library.
the local building official can accept alternate means of compliance when demonstrated that meets or exceeds the design intent. you have to discuss this on a case by case basis with each jurisdiction, or, get it certified via icc's evaluation services

loui1,
yes, trusjoist lsl lumber is available in the us. i specify it on occasion.
here is truss joist's web page for us. as noted at the top of the page there are different web pages for different countries. i specify truss joist lsl regularly and it is used quite a bit in the northwestern us. one of the main offices is in redmond, washington.
here in colorado (denver) we specify lsl, lvl and all the various i-joists (typ tji 210) for every single family builder. for tji (i-level), bci and others.
ditto here in utah |
