welding issue
a 5/16 in fillet normally does not need two passes. correct? is there a table indicating when more than one pass is needed? sorry, i' am little fuzy on this. thanks for your help.
a 5/16" weld is a general rule of thumb for the largest fillet weld that can be deposited in a single pass - aws d1.1 table 3.7 provides maximum single pass weld sizes for various procedures and positions. see the following modern steel article for a more involved discussion:
