wood joists into brick wall pockets or anchored?
i took down old joists improperly cantilevered and want to run new joists between bearing brick walls- should i cut out pockets in the brick walls or run headers tied into opposite brick walls with adhesive anchors? which is the more suitable, and or easier/time saving method?
check out our whitepaper library.
there is not much information on use anchor bolts in existing brick. probably the best available is "tech note 44 - anchor bolts for brick masonry", available at the brick industry association website |
