wood panelized wall construction
i was wondering what experience other people have had with wood panelized walls. the walls are to be framed off site, shipped to the job and then erected. what has been your experience with them? how have they connected adjacent panels when they are being erected? do you specify shop drawings to be done? thanks for the input.
i have had these used once on a small addition to a nursing home. shop drawings were provided so that window openings could be verified. sheathing was continuous at joints between panels. holes for anchor rods were drilled in the field verified with placement. any anchor rods that did not fall in an open space were replaced with epoxy anchors. hold down anchors were intalled with epoxy. they worked out fairly well. field inspect the walls. the same crappy studs that sometimes show up in the field will also show up with these walls.
