automatically place holes on mating part based on another part?
sorry for the cross-post, but the general forum may not get me an answer on this.
i want to add holes on a sheet metal panel to mount components on it. i know i can add in-context features by creating a sketch on the sheet metal part and then creating a hole concentric to a hole on the component being mounted.
my question is can this be done automatically? say i place a transformer on the sheet metal. can the mounting holes transfer from the transformer to the sheet metal?
i use another 3d program that does this, and want to try and implement something similar with solidworks.
any ideas?
