changing component line font
ok, i'm done beating my head against my desk.
i have an assembly drawing and need to change the line font on two of the components in it. i've tried rmb->component line font in both the feature manager and the graphics area. i've tried hiding, then "show hidden lines". i've tried smacking my mouse on my desk and swearing at the monitor, but nothing works.
any ideas? it seems like it should be a no brainer...

make a layer w/ desired font, color, etc. and put components on that layer.
i tried that, too.
what i have is a complete assembly. what i need to do is change the line font of a sub-sub-assemly within the upper level assembly.

pick the sub from the feature tree and then pick a layer from the layer tool. you might end up needing to pick individual subcomponents.
tried that too, tick. i'm wondering if the components are just too buried in the assembly.

i've never had to do this w/ components that were in subs.
ok, i got it. i had to change the layer and the component line font. doesn't quite make sense, but it worked.

i have not run into the problem you are describing. typically a right click on the component in the view or the subassy in the drawing's assembly tree and go to component line font. when i have wanted to change the line color, i use the layer method that thetick mentions. the deepest i have ever used these methods however is only a level or two. sorry i couldn't offer any help.

i just changed the line font and line style of a component 3 sub-assys deep. i don't know why your system won't allow you to. |
