phantom or x-ray view software ..
in some trade magazines one occasionally sees a 3d object that has been cut away to view the insides.. if sw2007 can do this i have yet to find it.... but what software does?
i can imagine some very labor intensive photo shop work but there must be an easier way.
thanks for your time
ralph
can you show an example? there are different types of cut away effects that sw can do.

you could use the section tool on a part/assy.
you could create a config and cut away portions of the part/assy.
you could use the section tools in a drawing, and set the resulting view to shaded or shaded with edges.
if you have photoworks, you could use masks to create a "see through" area.
ctopher, i believe he is talking about a broken-out section similar to this:
flores,
probably. that is my guess too.
but, could be one of these also:
thanks all

that view looks like it has been done by creating a configuration and applying a cut feature to the part.
that one was done in sw and was on the cover of the 2008 what's new:
search in sw help for broken-out section.
