recording macro problem
hi all,
i'm trying to make a macro that will change my current format to a new format. when i record the macro to do this, i and up with drawing scale parameters that are locked to the file i originally created the macro from. are there values i can input in the fields where scale number goes that jut let me keep whatever the new drawings have?
i also would like when the macro runs to have it change the color of a layer that i have. is this possible? thanks in advance!
and one last coomment. if i leave photoworks addin on, the first four lines of a recorded macro set pw variables of some kind. if i unload they dont show up, weird...

find a job or post a job opening
unfortunately, recorded macros are nearly useless in solidworks. what all are you trying to make this macro change? can you post the code?
-handleman, cswp (the new, easy test)
i dont have any from scratch code. basically i want to open a drawing, and hit a button that will update my format to a specified one, and change the color of a specific layer. thats about it.

you want to change the sheet format?
-handleman, cswp (the new, easy test)
yes, we needed to update out titleblock, and a layer color for our customer, and there are quite a few drawings that need to be done. ideally i'd like to specify a directory, and let it just update all .slddrw files if that is possible
take a look at propagator from
i have done a lot of changes with my drawing formats and do them manually as i update parts and assemblies. i have found it works better to delete the old sheet format in the tree then right click and select the new one, rather than try to just change it from the right click properties.
maybe this will help you structure your macro to work better.
