the component properties dialog for the selected view
where i work i am getting several requests to create a vb icon for solidworks which can pull up component properties while using a drawing document. my spacepilot had this functionality in 2007, but in 2008 it was removed with a lengthy list of other functions. i make simple macros on a regular basis, but could not get this command to function. could someone please post a script on how to do this as a macro?
someday i'll have to figure out (ole), it's always hit and miss.

what do you mean by "component properties"
i am just trying to avoid having to go to file, component properties on a drawing document to add the data that appears in the title block.

i still want the window to appear just as it does normally though because the data entry is always different per document

if you are on about the property window file->properties just setup a keyboard shortcut to the letter p, thats what i do
i think i'll do that

thanks for your help, i just set up a keyboard customization and used a send keys macro to activate it. i'm just trying to keep it as a button on my motion controller. thanks everyone for your help.
