Profiles Form and Location that are Bilaterally toleranced are failing good parts
<< Jim Gleason  --  03/05/04  15:27:21>>
Customer enters tolerance of say 0.01 and minus 0.005 and DMIS at times will reject a part.  If he goes and changes the +/- tol to say +/- 0.005 the software no longer has a problem.  He states this is intermitant and only occurs like 1 in 6 times

I have asked the customer for a print out or a saved report showing this at least 6 times.  I think they were bluffing. Close this one

Sent email off asking for an example of this.  It is funny how they always state things like this but can not back it.  I will close this in a week if I do not hear back.

The --#------ display indicates a % of tol used where #-------- means that the deviation is near the minus tol limit and --------# means the deviation is near the plus tol limit.
Do you have an example of a program run where a good part is rejected?  Please attach that instance of the .PRG to this report to help in diagnosing the problem.

Please see the attached program.  See the 2 profiles.  Why is the Pound # in the OUTOFTOL graph indicate a shift to high side in both cases?
