what is the meaning of xact measurement?

In 2002 Hexagon acquired the software company Xygent which was a venture of the old Brown & Sharpe company. Xygent had developed a software application called XactMeasure which implemented GD&T using Feature Control Frames. This was implemented within PC-DMIS so PC-DMIS used the name Xact to retain ownership of the copyright.
