design method for debris shielding
is there a standard practice for determining the loading on debris shielding used between steel bridge girders during concrete deck demolition? is there an equivalent uniform pressure that is commonly accepted, or does one have to approach it with newtonian physics?
thanks in advance to anyone who has advice.
no. i've seen specifications (mostly from railroads) that specifiy design loads for shielding including an impact load (usually 1000 # falling 6')and other specs that require the contractor to design shielding based on the anticipated demolition procedure.
there was an identical post some months ago.
