design of tiltup bracing deadman pads
does anyone have advice on the design of deadman concrete pads for the restraint of temporary bracing of precast wall panels? as i see it the worst case for bracing on one side only is combined lateral and uplift forces on the pad.
check out our whitepaper library.
wind load (not the same as lateral analysis wind load) creates an uplift and shear force (sliding) at the deadmen.
here's a great resource for bracing & deadmen,
thanks for that.
the information referenced indicates that provided the concrete weight of the deadman is greater than the brace tension force, the deadman is adequate. is this a common approach?
yes, it is a very common practice. glad the information was helpful... |
