girt deflection calculation (pre-engineering building design
hello everyone,
for the pre-engineering building, when we calculate the girt's deflection under the wind load,(cold formed steel and clading system) which should we use to check the deflection, l/360 or l/180?
thank you very much!
best regards,
tom
check out our whitepaper library.
if the girt gives lateral support to steel wall panels only, l/120 is acceptable.
if the girt gives lateral support to cmu, i would use l/360.

i use l/600 for masonry support.
if you're designing the mbs, you should look in the building specifications and contract documents first, then the mbma manual, if you're in the us. |
