how is rotation dealt with in the 2000 ibc/irc?
i'd really appreciate any input on this.
thanks,
mike
rotation of what?
yes, sorry that was a bit general.
the 97 ubc 2315.1 is what i'm referring to.
i'm trying to find where the above ubc section is in the new ibc code, or rather, how its referred to.
ibc 2305.2.5?
hmmmm... that section refers to rigid diaphragms and i've never considered a wood diaphragm to be rigid, but it's possible that for that particular chapter (23) they have defined "rigid" in a different way. i'll need to look into that. thanks! that helps a lot.
i believe this is the corresponding ibc section for ubc 2315.1. look at the beginning of chapter 23 in the ibc, section 2302 for the definition of a rigid diaphragm.
to work as an open sided diaphragm, there must be this classification of "rigid", relative to the overall average story drift. |
