icf wall
does anybody have experience with icf walls for something like a 6 storey concrete building 300 ft long x 70 ft wide?
find a job or post a job opening
i've done 4 storeys without a glitch... length about 200' as memory serves... no reason not to do 6 except it may be more economical to use masonry/reinf concrete for the interior walls.
dik
forgot to mention that i wrote a small delphi program to do the p/m interaction diagram for slender walls.  it's possible to enter the reinforcing either or both faces.

i'm planning to use columns with two way slab. based on preliminary calcs i get 8 inch wall to work. haven't chech my slab yet, what size of wall did you use for the 4 storey bldg?
i've used 6" for 6 storey using hc slab.  as i see it, the slab is two way slab with columns and shear walls and an icf exterior wall... is that correct?
dik
that is correct.
depending on your seismic zone, it should be fairly straightforward to model it.  you should be able to use 6" walls, and depending on the spans, maybe 8" slabs (punching shear might be an issue).  the exterior walls could use the equivalent of 6" concrete (check with the icf supplier for recommendations) and reinforce accordingly.

i've worked with various icf manufacturers that included my floor system... c-floor systems inc.  this us and canadian patented floor system uses 'composite-action' technology that is simple and economical.
only c-floor庐 - by means of the bond bar 鈥?provides code complying concrete to steel transfer of flexural shear.  first the bar is gripped by the radial shrinkage of the fully surrounding concrete, to this is added the microscopic buttress fortress forces of concrete on the bar deformations, and finally a macroscopic buttress force is mobilized between the concrete slab and the vertical exterior-facing faces of the shear transfer devices.
i'm having a hard time with my web site, so right now, i do not know how to show you some interesting features.
i do know that we've installed 10" purlins (with c-floor concept) and 4" concrete to span up to 30 feet without supports onto icf walls beautifully!  i've improved the fabrication that includes a 9/16 steel deck so that the contractor spends less time on site installation, ie $aving$.
is there any way i can post my email address for now?

can you check
