masonry lintel point load
i am designing a lintel that supports cmu wall.  the effective 45-degree triangle is being utilized for design.  there are a few point loads that are need to be incorporated into the design.  i have all these loads figured, but my question is:  are the point loads that are in the effective area dispersed as a uniform load or a triangular load?
this is a little difficult to explain, what i am looking to perform, but if you have the masonry's designer's guide 4th edition, view pages 11-25,26 and figure 11.4-9.  the shaded area from the point load, how is that dispersed on the lintel.  thanks for the help, and sorry for the confusion this may cause.
find a job or post a job opening
it looks like its a triangular load partially distributed on the lintel, the dark shaded triangle.  that's in the last paragraph before 11.4.5 on 11-25.
it is applied as a distributed load.  the magnitude of the distributed load is w=p/a.  p=point load.  a=1.15*h.  h is the distance from the application of the point load, i.e. top of wall, to the top of the lintel.  the point load spreads at a 30 degree angle from vertical.  only apply the distributed load to the appropriate length along the lintel from geometry.
