monosymmetry section constant
i need some help in calculating the monosymmetry constant for a unique cold foremd steel section.
so far all i can find is the formula for it which involves a rather nasty looking intergration.
if anyone knows much about this or is good at maths, please give me a hand.
cheers

from 鈥楾he behaviour and design of steel structures鈥?by ns trahair and ma bradford, chapman and hall, 1988.
an approx. method is given where the monosymmetry constant for a monosymmetric i-beam is;
β x = 0.9*h*(2*ρ m 鈥?1)*(1-iy^2/ix^2)
where;
ρ m = iyc/ iy
and;
iyc is the section minor axis second moment of area of the compression flange.
and;
h is the distance between the centroids of the compression and tension flanges. |
