post tension pour strip
how do you design a post tension pour strip
just the same as any other reinforced concrete design.  the strip width is usually at least 3 feet so that the jack will fit but may need to be wider depending upon the lap splice length for the rebar.
and use neoprene sleeves cast across the joint for tensioning at right angles... keeps from shearing the cable!
attention to whenther of not the incomplete span can support itself is also an important consideration. if the slab must remain shored without stripping the formwork until the slab pours back, the shoring and reshoring design will become far more involved. this will have a direct effect on the constructability and the construction schedule.
if the pour strip can be designed to support itself, and be reshored as the balance of the typical areas of the structure, the pourstrip will not be a road block to the construction process.
should the drywall contractor or the exterior contractor determine structural design? no, but a little coordination can go a long way. and save on a redesign further down the road, once the question has been asked to/by the contractor.
of course, not every pour strip can be self supporting.
keep asking questions and have fun.
