post-tensioned oneway slab beam system
i am designing a parking structure that uses oneway slab-beam system. i was wondering if i can design the beams with min p/a of 125 ksi and add additional tendons in that portion of the slab which is not considered effective to bump up the p/a to 175 ksi (suggested prestress for parking structures) and not provide the temperature and shrinkage steel in the wedge. by doing this i am assuming that i have satisfied the min p/a requirements for parking structures and stressed the slab enough to get rid of temperature steel. can i do this? i really appreciate your comments and thoughts on this. thanks in advance.
