quantify water infiltration through backfilled concrete wall
hi,
given a 350mm thick concrete wall, backfilled. the external water barrier fails and water pressure against the concrete is established. the concrete wall is uncracked. up to 4m head of water.
inside is an archive for important documents.
as consultants, we have been asked to quantify the amount of water that can infiltrate through the uncracked wall. this in order to design the de-humidification system.
does anyone know of any formulae for this?
thanks.

killi,
google 'porosity of concrete' i saw several articles come up.
i this is a new build, then you may be able to specify a maximum porosity and then use that to calculate the vapour.
this is similar to geotechnical dam design where you check how much water will flow through the soil under the dam. get out your soil text books and see if you can find a method.
