sip roof
so pretty much i have this house that has sloped flat roof that is supported by dropped beams every 5 ft or so. these beams will support sip going other direction. these dropped beams will cantilever about 5ft for look out.
here is what i'm worried about. i did specified hurricane ties at the look out for each dropped beams but how about the sip onto the dropped beam? is it easy to connect the splines to the dropped beams with simpson hurricane ties? i'm designing it for 90mph category b. i just never specified sip on my drawings before. i'm not sure how it connects together. if you guys have a good link about sip roof i will appreciate it.
i haven't worked with sip panels very much, but i had the same question. all i could ever find is that the sip screw (long screw)is used for everything, including the uplift. i found one website that had a lot of details.
two manufacturers of sips are "premier" and "precision" |
