triangular lattice guyed tower-torsion?
pals
how is torsion taken into account for in these towers?
what difference would it make were 3 sets of guys not spaced 120 degrees apart, say 135,100 and 125 degrees apart

if you have a dish at the top or anywhere along the height, the localized torsion produced by wind loads on the dish has to be accommodated; however, i have generally not looked at global torsion of the tower in analysis, since the guy cables have equilaterally corresponded to the vertices of the triangle. if you change the angle of the guys, you would have to consider torsion in the global sense for the tower. |
