ubc guardrail requirement
ubc states that a guardrail is required on roofs "used for other than service of the building". since service of the building is vague, is anyone aware of a definition for facilities used for the service of a building?
this condition applies to roofs where pedestrian traffic is allowed (building users can access the roof for other than service reasons, i.e., an observation platform or patio.
if the general public or building users are restricted from the roof, the guardrail issue does not apply. |
