strange!?!?!
hey guys,
i have a rather weird problem and i'm not sure if anyone knows what it may be or perhas someone here has had this happen.
basically, my machine stays on 22 hours a day. i have never really had any software related issues with the exception of the regular version bugs and the occasional doc watson misha.
we reboot each morning, and yesterday, i found that when we went to do the regular qualification, i couldn't because my probe file had comlpetely disapeared! i initially thought that perhas someone deleted it from the program directory, but the file itself was still there, it just didn't have any data in it. so, i reboot again, and find that this is not the fix.
after rebuilding the probe file, and cursing for a few minutes, i am ready to qualify only to find that my qualification tool files have also been munched!!
i reboot, again not the fix, so i curse some more and create a new tool. i run qualification but i get a few strange error messages before i can commence, but everything goes smoothly.
just for my own masocistic ways, i decide to reboot the machine again, when i go back, my qualification tools are gone again!!!
my first thought is, virus, sy, etc. so i comletely take c off of network, get rid of everything unnecessary and run syware and adware swees, virus scan, and i install a personal firewall on the machine.
unfortunately, all of the swees were clean, which really makes messes me u now, as i have nothing that i can point at.
if anyone has any ideas, or can share their experiences, that would be great!!!
running 3.5 mr2 on b&s xcel 7-10-7 w/ windows x s2
thanks,
sounds like your hard drive might be starting to crash. perhas the sectors of the drive that contain your pc-dmis program have become corruted as a result. have you tried reinstalling the pc-dmis program?
have you it eole try scanning your hafrd drive for bad sectors as well.
try deleting all of your probe files from your pc-dmis directory or where ever they are stored and rebuild the files from scratch. i believe they may have become corrupted an pc-dmis is trying to comensate the only way it knows how.
i've had similar problem-when my program would disapeer!!! |
