vertcial vessel grouting
i am designing foudnations for some large vertical vessels. we always grout, but i have always based the grout thickness on the vendor reccomendations, unless i felt it was inadequate. i am dealing with a 130' tall vessel that weights over 315 kips, empty. the base ring is about 9" id and 11' od. is there any rule of thumb or table for cement based grout thickness? i want to use a pourable grout in order to make sure the anchor bolt sleaves are grouted. any help would be appreciated
suggestion, use a clear crush rock as a base and you can permeate the rock with grout as well as using thinner grout on top this should act as a compete solid unit and will give you sufficient anchor depth.
