insert equations api
right now im using the equations to bring up my blank size dims from the sketch contrained to the flat pattern but im really starting to get sick of having to copy and paste those things for every sheet part i do, which is a lot every day
is there a way that i can make a code to insert those equations from a file else where on the network?
put them into an excel spreadsheet and call them up into the solidworks part?
just trying to figure it all out
take a look at the following api example in the api help file:
"use iif function when adding an equation example (vb)"
i got it, i just used the record button inside solidworks and then edited out all of the stuff that would make errors and soon enough i had what i wanted
dim swapp as object
dim part as object
dim selmgr as object
dim boolstatus as boolean
dim longstatus as long, longwarnings as long
dim feature as object
sub main()
set swapp = application.sldworks
set part = swapp.activedoc
set selmgr = part.selectionmanager
part.deleteallrelations
part.addrelation """larger blank""= iif(""d1@blank size"" > ""d2@blank size"", ""d1@blank size"", ""d2@blank size"")"
part.addrelation """small blank""= iif(""d1@blank size"" < ""d2@blank size"", ""d1@blank size"", ""d2@blank size"")"
end sub
and yes those equations do work for choosing your smaller and larger blank dimensions in case you have a boss that wants to see the smaller blank dim on the left of the larger one all of the time
just trying to figure it all out
