document manager - body count
hi everybody
as part of a macro to analyse and report different performance related parameters i want to count the number of bodies in a part. i would like to use document manager to avoid loading the models in sw. i found the function swdmconfiguration::getbodiescount but it only works for models created in sw2003 and lower (yes lower - not higher!).
i can't find any function which will work for newer files. am i missing something here or is it not possible? if not i will have to open the files in sw.

jorn,
nope you are correct; this function only works for files in 2003 or lower format. don't ask me why they have carried on implementing it without creating a function that can actually count bodies for formats since 2003!
i cannot see any functions in the entire dm for getting body counts other than this one.
luke,
thanks for looking into the subject. i resigned and created a solution where i open the files in sw. a process that will take many times longer than it would have with dm. i am analysing large assemblies with many parts.
