flip direction of hole wizard feature?
is there a way to flip the direction of a hole wizard feature? i have created a cylinder with the origin in the center. i place a hw feature on one of the principal planes and tell it to cut up to next. it cuts out thru the cylinder wall on one side. the cut direction seems to always be the same (perhaps front to back of sketch plane?). what i am after is to place a second hw feature on the same plane but cutting the opposite side of the cylinder. i cannot find any way to flip the cut direction inside the hole wizard.
i am still on sw2005 sp5.0.

a hw sketch point on the outer surface of a cylinder should automatically cut the hole toward the centre. flipping should not be necessary.
cbl,
i am cutting from a plane inside the cylinder. in that case flipping is needed to cut thru the other side of the cylinder. how is this done?
timelord
try creating a plane by rotating the original plane 180deg about the cylinder axis. i'm not certain, but i'm guessing the hw feature is using the direction of the plane's normal vector to decide which direction the hole should go.
timelord,
if you are running sw09, you can reverse the direction by making a negative depth dimension of the hole size sketch.
but in future it would make more sense (imo) to cut the hole from the outside in per regular machine shop practice.
please ignore my last sentence if you actually are cutting from the inside out.
thanks guys,
thanks for the suggestions. i found a work around. open the revolved sketch and drag the sketch the other direction.
timelord
try using the modify sketch option to flip the x-direction of your sketch coordinate system by right clicking the movable csys on the dot of the direction you want to reverse.
looks like youve done this. if this doesn't work for you or anyone else you can edit the plane of the sketch to be a reference plane created through the cylinder axis at an angle of 180 to flip or other to move it around cylinder.
it also may be possible with move/rotate face command.
