inserting bom in an specified layer
for drawings send to our customers we need different languages. we have a batch plot wich toggles on and off the different layers (languages=layer). the last step is to insert every bom in a different layer (6 in total), manualy it works fine. but we need to place 6 bom's manualy.
i started to write on an vb code to place te bom's automaticcaly. but i can't find out a way to change the bom-layer.
toggleing layer visibility on and off, works fine, but placing a bom in a specified layer won't work.

set swview = swselmgr.getselectedobject6(1, 0)

tabletemplate = "h:\solidworks\templates\bom templates\vertaling bom ass\ned ass temp.sldbomtbt"
' insert bom table
set swbomann = swview.insertbomtable2(true, 0.4, 0.3, anchortype, bomtype, configuration, tabletemplate)
swmodel.clearselection2 true
' because bom type is swbomtype_toplevelonly, then work with bomfeature to get and set configurations
set swbomfeat = swbomann.bomfeature
names = swbomfeat.getconfigurations(false, visible)
visible(0) = true
boolstatus = swbomfeat.setconfigurations(true, visible, names)
'update featuremanager design tree
swfeatmgr.updatefeaturetree
end sub
jo, this is what i would use to set the layer for bom table:
swbomann.getannotation.layer = "layername"
insert it directly after the "set swbomann =" line and see if it works for you!
to defeat the wheat, go against the grain.
tom, thx.
this was the part i couldn't find. tryed it out this morning, and it works almost fine. just need a bit of finetuning.
