brep edge loop curves intersect/overlap

when trying to convert the object in the attached file to a surface representation i'm running into difficulties because the some of the nurbs curves in the edge loops contain extra sections of curves. for example, the curves on the torii contain the full curves describing the intersection between the torus and the vertical planes, rather then just the section connecting the other pieces of the edge loop.
obviously i could try and calculate the intersections and use the curve direction to determine the piece to use, but i was hoping there might be a better way.

there are no problems with test file in last ddt release.
what ddt release version did you use ?
