dwg direct library update from 2.4.2 to 2.7 beta
hi all,
i am trying to update dwgdirect library from 2.4.2 to 2.7 beta. this is the 1st time i am updating. i would like to know the general procedures to be followed.
in the release notes, i could see the libraries are not compatible with previous versions, and hence client applications have to be rebuild again. does it require design change?

in general the releases which has the same major and minor version number (2.6.1, 2.6.2, 2.6.3) are binary compatible (no recompilation is required).
if minor version is changed recompilation is necessary. also some changes may be required in project files and code. they are described in release notes.
upgrading from 2.4.2 to 2.7.0 you need read all release notes between 2.4.2 and 2.7.0

they are posted to odoutgoing on december 2.

why libs changed name? is this temporary?
the change in library names is not temporary. now the libraries have the same name for all platforms. it makes easier referring them in documentation and maintaning projects/build scripts for different platforms.
