i use the function explode() to explode proxy elements.
i explode the file proxy1.dwg.
when i explode a proxy-element with the debug library (vc6mtd), the application crashes.
with the release version everything is ok.
i can not upload the dwg-file although it is a small file (600k).
for some reason i can upload only small files (100k)
if you give an email address i can send the dwg-file proxy1.dwg to you.

btw, is your application a console one?
crash in debug and ok in release looks like result of assertion call in debug library. this indicates some "unexpected" situation.
in mfc application assertion only displays a message box.
