【转帖】how do i draw sample linetypes

how do i draw sample linetypes?
how do i draw sample linetypes?
i would like to display a preview of all of the given linetype in a drawing in a listctrl. what is the suggested approach for accomplishing this?
close... but no cigar
i have written code that draws a oddbline on a given device and that looks ok. however when i try to use a linetype like zigzag from acad.lin it still draws with what looks like the default linetype. i am calling pline->setlinetype(id); before i call update on my device... suggestions?

true...but how do i hook into that?
my app does (correctly) use the exhostappservices::findfile for rendering the drawing. i'm trying to render just the linetypes in a combo box. how do i hook my apps exhostappservices to my the rendering framework i have built? i don't see a m_pdevice->usethishostappservices(&theapp). suggestions?
here is what i am doing:
i passing a vector of oddbobjectids that represent my linetypes. then i use that to get a oddblinetypetablerecordptr and from that i get the database. i'm assuming that this points to the original database that the linetype came from... but perhaps not? here is the pertinent code.
code:
oddblinetypetablerecordptr pl= lt.safeopenobject();
assert(pl.get());

oddbdatabase* pdb=pl->database();

odgicontextfordbdatabase::setdatabase(pdb);

m_pdevice->eraseallviews();
odgsviewptr pview = m_pdevice->createview();
m_pdevice->addview(pview);
pview->setlineweighttodcscale(0.);

oddblineptr pline = oddbline::createobject();
pline->setdatabasedefaults(pdb);
pline->setlinetype(lt);
pline->setstartpoint(odgepoint3d(0,10,0));
pline->setendpoint(odgepoint3d(100,10,0));
pview->add(pline, 0);
yes. they render correctly it only seems to be the ones that call findfile. if i put a break point in the findfile function it gets hit by the view but not by my combobox rendering code...
george,
you were right that i wasn't calling the setusergicontext on my device...i fixed that but i'm still not getting zigzag to render in my combo box. how does the odgicontext tie to the oddbhostappservices::findfile? it seems as if my combobox's device/database hasn't got the pointer to the oddbhostappservices which fixes the path for the shx file.

george,
thanks for your help. it was a function of zoom level. a tighter zoom level fits and looks nicely.
thanks,
