【转帖】inserting images into dwg files

inserting images into dwg files
inserting images into dwg files
i've had no end of trouble trying to insert tif files into dwg files.
i can manage to insert an entry with the correct file path, but the file fails to display when i try to open the file (the status is listed as not found).
is there some sort of standard procedure that i'm missing?
thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide in this area.

which file fails to display (tif, dwg)?
what tool did you use to open file?
sincerely yours,

the dwg file displays correctly, the image just doesn't show up.
i've tried a few different apps to view the file, including autocad2000.
here's the code i've been using:
oddbobjectid imagedictid = oddbrasterimagedef::createimagedictionary(pdb);
oddbdictionaryptr pimagedict = imagedictid.safeopenobject(oddb::kforwrite);
oddbrasterimagedefptr pimagedef = oddbrasterimagedef::createobject();
oddbobjectid imagedefid = pimagedict->setat(imgname, pimagedef);
cerr<<"image dictionary set"<<endl;
pimagedef->setsourcefilename(fwritename);
pimagedef->setimage(odgirasterimagedesc::createobject(imagew idth, imagelength, resunit));
cerr<<"image set"<<endl;
imgdef = oddbrasterimage::createobject();
imgdef->setimagedefid(imagedefid);
cerr<<"imagedefid set"<<endl;
i should probably clarify that this code is running in a linux/unix environment, while the resulting dwg file is being accessed from a windows environment. also, i'm accessing information from the raster file directly via a tiff library.
currently i've hard coded the location of the image file to be in the same directory as the dwg file (i'll resolve that issue later), but the raster is still not loading the image in autocad.
the path listed in image management is correct, but the image is listed as "not found"
any ideas where i should focus on resolving this issue?
also: i've attempted to use rxrasterservices.drx instead of the tiff library i'm currently using, but the module is not found when i attempt to load it. is this windows specific code, or am i missing something?
thanks

there are couple of questions.
1) is it possible to insert this tif file to drawing in autocad? maybe autocad have problems with some specific tif-files.
2) do you have same problems with other formats? is raster image that is produced by odwriteex sample on your linux visible in autocad?

i forgot this line of code, which seems to have made the difference:
pimage->setdisplayopt(oddbrasterimage::kshow, true);
thanks for your help
