in autocad, it works fine, if i use

the question could be, how dwgdirect interprete "\" or "/". in lisp i must use a "\\" for a "\" [example (setq test "\\\\mycomputer\\printer")].

dd does not interprete filename itself. it calls
code:
odstreambufptr odrxsystemservices::createfile(odchar* filename, ...)
and uses returned odstreambuf-based object.
this function can be overloaded in custom systemservices. see exsystemservices.
