we have found that the dwgdirect 1.13 libraries for solaris sparc are not compatibile with our application compiled with gcc 3.3 (we also tries gcc 3.4 with same results).
in researching this, i have learned from other develepers who also had this issue with 3rd party libraries that this is due to the difference in the c++ name mangling convention used by the sun c++ compiler.
it my understanding that sun rectifed this in the sun complier verion 5.5 released 3/2004 so that the libraries produced by sun are compatible with gcc. sun latest release is 5.8.
are there any plans to upgrade to newer sun sparc compiler?
the 1.14 release, which should be available by tomorrow, will contain a version of dwgdirect built using gcc 3.4.2 on solaris sparc.
