vectorization of dynamic text?
vectorization of dynamic text? is it possible when vectorizing text in dwgdirect to examine the text and tell the system not to vectorize this particular text? can text be modified on the fly before vectorization proceeds? not sure but if nothing else you should be able to cycle through all the text and set the visibility to off before the vectorization, vectorize it, and then set the visibility back to on. you can check each entity passed to your draw() method and filter out the text that you don't want to vectorize. something like: code: void exsimpleview::draw(const odgidrawable* pdrawable) { if (/* check for your condition */) { // handle it in your own way } else { // vectorize odgsbasevectorizeview::draw(pdrawable); } } we custom handle hatches in our app this way. about modifying entities, you can! by casting away the constness of the pointer passed and downcasting to the type of entity it actually is. but i suspect dd guys would not recommend that, as is clear from the fact that they declared the pointer passed as const. we also utilize this hack(!) in our app for vectorizing (hidden) layers, which won't be vectorized otherwise. regards, varun thanks, very helpful. unfortunately, modification is ncessary for some users. i am not permitted to show dimensional information to some, and the only practical way i have found is filtering out regex's that match decimal numbers. but this gives me enough to experiment. thanks. varun recommended the correct way - examining entity in draw() method and calling the base class draw() or handling the drawable in custom way. also note that first draw() is called for dimension entity. if odgsbasevectorizeview::draw() is called from your code it will recurcively call your draw() again for each entity forming dimension block including texts. after that draw() for dimension entity exists. so you can filter texts coming from dimensions only. and i see no reason in modifying database during vectorization. sergey slezkin we have a hidden attribute in our app, and want to map the frozen attribute in autocad to this. for each entity passed to draw(), say a sphere 1. we check if it is on a frozen layer. 2. if so, we clear the frozen attirbute of the layer (so that the vectorizer will generate lines/circles for this sphere). 3. vectorize the sphere. 4. set the hidden/not hidden attribute in our app for this entity. 5. reset the frozen layer attribute. without modifying the layer attribute, we found no way to make entities appear via the vectorizer and then set them as hidden. the only other way i could think of doing this would be to iterate over all entities in the database before vectorization and store the correct value of attribute in a map or something, set all layers as non-frozen and then vectorize. this does not look like a terribly efficient approach to me. so for us, modifying the database is a necessity. thanks, varun (ps: if someone can suggest an alternate better approach, i am all ears.) |
