hi, i cannot find anything about the way of designation of rps points on the drawing acc. to asme or iso. could you please give me some tip about a standard no. where i can find something about it? i know the customer way, but it's not enough in my case....... thanks in advance michal77 find a job or post a job opening hello michal77, could you tell me more about rps points? i'm not sure what this acronym stands for. robert hello imnotfrommars, rps means - reference point system (german way - referenz punkt systematik). it's very useful tool when you have 3d model in position to car line datum. you can indicate on the drawing these 3 points which are very useful for measurement guys. then they are able to, acc to these points, correctly 'adjust' real item to part which is somewhere in the 3d space. just for example, rps 1 should bind the most degrees of freedom (usually 3 are in use, xyz, xy and y) i know how to indicate these points acc. to customer but i'm no able to find anything about this in asme or iso. if you want, please take a look on attached example... best regards michal77 i'm not familiar with rps, but if they're the same as registration marks or dimensional accuracy points, then check out asme y14.31 - undimensioned drawings jim sykes, p.eng, gdtp-s |
