ansi ansi b92.1 and b92.2 invo
this question was asked earlier this year but i don't know if there was ever an answer. ansi b92.1 and b92.2 standards for inch and metric, respectively, splines have been withdrawn by ansi but there doesn't seem to be any replacement american standard. my company has used these standards in the past but if there is a replacement american spline standard we would be anxious to know and not continue to use an obsolete standard. i have looked up sae and agma websites and haven't seen anything. we use din 5480 for our european customers but some us customers want ansi . any ideas? sae b92.1 1996 and ase b92.2m 1980 are listed in ihs as being active. organization: sae authored by: sae - sae international 400 commonwealth drive warrendale pa 15096-0001 phone: (724)776-4841 phone: cust. svc-u.s. & phone: 1-877-606-7323 phone: outside u.s. & ca phone: (724)776-4970 i should have replied to this before, but anyway here is what i found out: b92.1-1996 and b92.2m are still the current sae spline standards, even though ansi has them listed in error (mistakenly) as "withdrawn". however, due to bureaucratic delays b92.2 is out of print. sae are now in the course of reaffirming them. no changes are planned to the content of the standards themselves. |
