ansi surface finish
looking for info on the heidelberg hatch system of surface finish, the symbols look like upside down triangles. i am trying to convert it to microinches,micrometers or the "n" roughness grade numbers. i believe 3 triangles = 32 microinch finish. a chart would be helpful check out our whitepaper library. triangles give a rather broad range of surface finishes. their equivalents are as follows: 1 triangle = 500 m inch = n10=12.5 m meters = 250 m inch = n9 = 6.3 m meters 2 triangles= 125 m inch = n8 = 3.2 m meters = 63 m inch = n7 = 1.6 m meters 3 triangles= 32 m inch = n6 = 0.8 m meters = 16 m inch = n5 = 0.4 m meters = 8 m inch = n4 = 0.2 m meters 4 triangles= 4 m inch = n3 = 0.1 m meters = 2 m inch = n2 = 0.05 m meters = 1 m inch = n1 = 0.025 m meters each triangle encompasses a range of surface finishes. two triangles are used to denote a surface finish from 125 micro inches to anything over 32 micro inches. hodgey (visitor)29 apr 02 3:20 can someone assist me in in identifying the finish required by a single triangle and the symbol rz25 randallh (visitor)30 apr 02 11:14 rz25 means the specifies the mean surface finish is 25 m meters, or 1000 m inch. |
