which iso standards address the issue of commas vs. periods as decimal separators and 10^3 separators? bs 5775-0:1993 section 3.3 bs 8888:2000 section 18.2 i wrote the above in a hurry on a friday afternoon! the iso standard is 31-0:1992 (which is identical to bs 5775-0) the iso rules for "representation of numbers and numerical values" may be found in iso directives part 2:2001 "rules ..." clause 6.6.8. briefly, the decimal separator is a comma, and "thousands" both before and after the decimal are separate by a space, i.e. digits are presented in groups of three. iso directives may be viewed/downloaded for free from the iso sdis website: |
