issuing/naming drawings
i am in the middle of a disagreement over the issuing of part numbers to parts & drawings. a collegue that has been working here for many years (i have only recently joined) claims that it is correct iso practice to take a part and issue it with multiple part numbers and drawings because is it being used on a multiple projects. i disagree. i think that one part should have one part number and one drawing. are there any iso guidelines on this? paul. paul i dont know of any standard but i would say that you are correct if the parts are all identical ( including finish colour) what happens in the stores? do they have a separate location for each part number? do the stores have to renumber? do you or did you work for atl? dan unless there are form/fit/function differences, we utilize the same part number for a component even if it is used across platforms. it is easier to track, procure, and inventory. hi dan, are you talking about iso drafting standards or iso9000/9001 compliance? |
