a slip connection for joist to beam flange connection
a slip connection for joist to beam flange connection?
(re: joist to beam conn). i cannot transmit any wind forces(perp)to the supporting beam. i do need to transmit gravity loads. sortof a "lean-to" frame. i would like to know is there a material to install between the joist seat and the beam flange to give it a true slip connection? thank you. there are many companies that manufacture slide bearings. i've used con-serv on rare occaision ( i always used teflon under my joists, joist girders and beams where sliding is required. i provide steel bearing plate, teflon pad and provide slotted holes to accommodate your movement. i hope this helps. lutfi |
