cinderblock design for high seismic zones
does anyone have a good reference for cinderblock design and details including reinforcing, door and window lentils, etc for high seismic areas. i usually tend toward poured concrete but i have some customers who really want a block foundation. i know they are used a lot in low seismic areas but i don't see many of them in high seismic areas because of the reinforcing and grouting requirements.
