concrete specification
i have designed an exterior staircase (over 100 feet long horizontally.) should i use the concrete specification under division 2 or the one under division 3.
usually structural concrete falls under div. 3.
i forgot to mention that the exterior concrete staircase is on grade. is the division 3 conrete spec still more appropriate than the division 2 spec. thanks!!
well, most on-grade site concrete falls under div 2, where a lot of the time, specific concrete requirements are cross referenced over to the div 3 concrete section. i guess you need to just use engineering judgement and evaluate the contents of your div 2 spec to see if it has the necessary elements you want to properly control/specify the concrete.
